Punjab Chief Minister takes notice of land grabbing by PML-N MNA ( Also a member of Bahria Town Pvt Ltd. committee )

ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mian Shahbaz Sharif taking notice of an expatriate’s Rs 35 million land grabbing by two Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Members of National Assembly (MNAs), who are real brothers and business partner of a land developer, has instructed the Additional Inspector General (AIG) of police to look into the matter.
According to the sources, the AIG has sent a letter to District Police Officer (DPO) to initiate an inquiry, take necessary action and send a report to his office by February 28. Daily Times in a report published on February15 pointed out that Adalat Hussain, son of Atta Muhammad, who has been living in United Kingdom (UK) for last 50 years, purchased 35 kanals and eight marla of land vide Khasra numbers 307, 258, 76 and 75 in Pindmatay Khan on highway near Gujar Khan in 2004.
The land, purchased from investment point of view, was transferred in his name vide transfer number 1647. But latter MNAs of Muslim League (N) Raja Muhammad Asad Khan and Raja Muhammad Safdar Khan allegedly grabbed the land and threatened Adalat that he would be shot dead if he came back to the land. Hussain said when he field an application with the police, Station House Office (SHO) Mehboob Shah, instead of registering a First Information Report (FIR) told him that they could not take any action against MNAs.
Hussain said he went to the DSP office but DSP sent him to Tehsildar and Tehsildar sent him to DDRO who also refused to take any action and advised him to file an application with the complaint cell and wait for his turn. Hussain said he also visited the Assistant Commissioner but he also advised him to sell the land and go back to UK, as he could not stand against such influential persons.
Husaain said after getting disappointed he also sent letters to the Punjab CM, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, IG Punjab Police, Punjab Governor and Revenue Officer to provide him justice. “I am continuously receiving threats from the MNAs and their third brother Raja Akhtar who are forcing me to sell the land to them at the same price on which I purchased it in 2004 otherwise I would be shot dead,” said Hussain.
He had appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan to take a notice and provide him justice. On the other hand MNA Raja Safdar had refused the allegations.
Hussain’s nephew Perviz Afzal said MNA Raja Asad and Malik Riaz were business partners. “Raja Asad, also a member of Bahria Town committee, is using his influence to grab land for Malik, as housing societies are now moving towards Gujar Khan,” he alleged. The CM has taken notice on the application sent by Adalat Hussain. The CM Secretariat has sent a letter No.DIR(CC)/PST/11/CMS/85147 to Rawalpindi region AIG Police to initiate an inquiry and send a report to secretariat.
The AIG has sent a letter No RCC/2011/31B signed by RPO Hamid Mukhtar Gondal to relevant DPO to look into the matter personally, take necessary action as per law and send the latest detail and comprehensive report to RPO office by February 28.
