Lahore Development Authority New Housing Scheme
LAHORE – The Governing Body of Lahore Development Authority decided on Monday to launch a new housing scheme in the city which would be located at Link Khyaban-e-Jinnah Road and Defence Road on 4,361 kanals chunk of land. A 150 feet wide Structure Plan Road was already under construction in this area.
Chaired by District Co-ordination Officer and Chairman LDA Ahad Khan Cheema, the meeting was attended by Vice Chairman LDA Aamir Asgher Dar, Vice Chairman WASA Haji Muhammad Sharif, Director General of Lahore Development Authority Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, Managing Director WASA Dr Javed Iqbal, Managing Director TEPA Farqaleet Meer, Chief Metropolitan Planner Waseem Ahmad Khan, Chief Town Planner Ch Muhammad Akram, Chief Engineer TEPA Saif Ur Rahman, Chief Engineer LDA Israr Saeed and representatives of the provincial Local Government, Housing, P&D and Finance Departments besides administrators of the nine constituent towns of the City District, Lahore.
The authority approved re-modeling of Model Town Link Road from Moulana Shaukat Ali Road to PACE, Lahore.
The project will be executed at a cost of Rs 186.66 million. This would be a three lane dual carriageway with service roads and parking provision on both sides.
The authority decided to place the remaining 49 mortgaged plots of Venus Housing Scheme, with a view to generating revenue for completing development works in this scheme, in pursuance of the orders passed by the Honourable Bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Date of the auction will be announced very soon.
The authority also accorded approval for construction of incomplete roads in Venus Housing Scheme at a cost of Rs 30.38 million.
Keeping in consideration the extra ordinary conditions created by the epidemic of Dengue fever, the authority allowed temporary utilisation of seven of its dispensary sites, situated in various localities of the city, by the Health Department of City District Government, Lahore, for treating patients.
The authority also adopted Punjab Government’s Health Department Notification regarding grant of health professional allowance to its senior medical officers.
The authority also approved bifurcation of the posts of Director Engineering WASA for appointment from among the senior most Deputy Directors or on deputation.
