LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the Kalma Chowk flyover project has been completed in a record period of 135 days by working round the clock and this project is a shining example with regard to speed, quality and transparency.
“The flyover will be a model for the projects throughout the country and this culture will be promoted in the country, including Punjab. I have announced the gift of a splendid project to the citizens of the provincial metropolis on the occasion of Independence Day and, thanks God, flyover has been opened for traffic on the Day.
The Kalma Chowk Flyover is a master piece of construction and by completing it in a record period, we have proved that if work is carried out with sincerity and dedication, there will be no hurdle.
We will make the future of the country bright with same spirit and hard work,” he maintained, while addressing the ceremony held in connection with the inauguration of the Kalma Chowk flyover on Ferozepur Road on Sunday. Senior Advisor Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Provincial Ministers, MPAs, Quarter Master General, Director General NLC, officers of NESPAK and concerned departments as well as a large number of people attended the function.
The CM said we had set a new tradition in the world of construction as besides saving in the estimated cost, and timely completion of the project, night culture had been introduced in the world of construction.
“This project is unique as for the first time in the history of the country, it has been completed in a record period by working day and night. Six months ago, the cost of this project had been estimated at Rs 2.30 billion, but despite increase in the prices of construction material during this period, an amount of Rs 300 million has been saved by completing the project at a cost of Rs 2 billion, for which officers and officials of the Communication and Works Department and the concerned contractor deserve appreciation,” he said, adding that best traveling facilities would be available to the people with the completion of the project while trade and economic activities would also be promoted.
He mentioned that four lakh vehicles pass through the Chowk daily and sometimes people had to face difficulties and mental torture due to traffic jam and their precious time was also wasted.
He said ambulances taking patients to the hospitals were also stuck up in the rush of traffic but after completion of this project people would get rid of these problems.
“Misappropriation of funds, nepotism and corruption are rampant in the name of development projects in the past and Faisalabad-Sumundri Road, Hafizabad Pindi Bhattian Road, Lahore Kasur Gunda Singh Road, Thokar Niazbeg Defence Road, Thokher Niazbeg flyover and Lahore Ring Road are proof of this fact. These projects bespeak of poor planning, dishonesty and plunder of the former rulers.
We have changed these graveyards of plunder into monuments of development. The Barkat Market underpass will be completed at a cost of Rs 100 million by September this year and the speed and quality of construction of the Kalma Chowk flyover will also be maintained in this project,” he asserted.

I wish these guys give you official location & make announcement publicly. I dont see what is harm in officially disclosing DHA City true location.
DHA EME sector is still confirming its DHA EME phase 2 so money should be safe in any DHA City Lahore project. It may take long time but it will insha Allah get developed one day. Expected location is very very good. Since it will be located close to Lahore Islamabad Motorway entrance and is also inside Lahore ring road southern loop so It will have lot of buyer if the location is officially announced to general public. One phone DHA City Lahore is giving this location to many people but they are not disclosing it on their website and in newspapers.
As of today we have 5 and and 10 marla plots for sale on one lac loss on paid amount. I believe now with transfer open buyers will insha Allah slowly show up and loss may disappear soon and DHA City Lahore 5 and 10 marla may start trading in profit in coming weeks and months. In Lahore 1000s of people are disparately looking to buy small budget plots on installments to make their houses on these plots in future. With DHA name people do feel very comfortable in making new investments.
For one kanal plot holders I think they will be in loss for a very long time due to DHA Lahore phase 9 one kanal selling at 22 lacs cheaper than DHA City Lahore. DHA City kanal will only improve when DHA 9 Kanal price is above DHA City Kanal booking price of 37.5 lacs with out development charges.
Friends I had the official DHA EME Lahore website but lost the bookmark. Please search the DHA EME website on web for me and post the link here. I was told DHA EME have posted some good DHA City related info on their official website too and I need to check that info. Right now may entire office is busy in helping DHA installment booking forms submission etc.

there are allocation files available at 30.50 laces one kanal of DHA phase 8.i just want to know either these file relate to DHA proper or something else like air avenue.because there are also separate files for park view 1 kanal at 20 lack. if these are phase 8 proper files then where these plots can be located on ballot. if the phase 8 proper still contain land why it is not offered in current ballot to be held.

Pardesi KSA bhai these are proper DHA phase 8 files and plot will be allotted in DHA phase 8 proper only in next ballot.
These are files against the new land handed over to DHA Lahore. Why DHA is not offering these one kanal on installment? I dont know DHA Lahore policy about what they want to offer and why they are not offering one kanal in DHA 8 or DHA 7.

Journalist Housing Society protest against ‘land grabbers’
Staff Report
LAHORE: The journalist community, while protesting against a fake FIR registered by police under the name of land grabbers at the behest of the provincial rulers, Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and high ups of Police Department, gathered outside the CM’s Secretariat on Wednesday and asked police to arrest them if they were ‘dacoits’.
Harbanspura Police Station had launched an FIR against 13 senior journalists, including a governing body member of the Lahore Press Club (LPC), Baba Muzammal Gujjar, and some other unidentified journalists on the complaint of land grabber mafia which had already been involved in illegal land grabbing in the Journalists’ Housing Colony at Harbanspura.
A large number of journalists brought out a massive rally from the LPC to CM Secretariat at 7-Club Road where they staged a sit-in and chanted slogans against the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government for patronising the land grabbers. They demanded prompt action against those behind the registration of fake FIR that named 13 journalists in a fake robbery and kidnapping case.
LPC representatives, Punjab Union of Journalists (PUJ) and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) led the protest, offering collective arrests and demanding the authorities to suspend Harbanspura’s DSP and SHO for registering a fake case against senior members of their community.
LPC President Sarmad Bashir, Secretary Azam Chaudhry and other representatives, while addressing the protesters, said that the Harbanspura Police registered the fake case against the journalists on the directions of CCPO Ahmed Raza Tahir, and DIG (Operations) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar. They said that police and PML-N MPA’s were protecting the land grabbers by registering fake criminal cases against journalists.
They said that police was reluctant to arrest those who attacked the journalists and tried to occupy their residential plots in Journalist Housing Society. They said that the City Police was targeting journalists in a planned manner. They further said that the journalists are being victimised by the Punjab government for holding a meeting with the prime minister a day ago.
LPC leaders also announced another protest, to be held on Friday at 4pm, saying that their protest would not end until an action was taken against the land grabbers.
Meanwhile, Punjab government sent MPA Zaeem Qadri to negotiate with the journalists and to ask them to put an end to the protest, however, the journalists at large refused to enter into any deal unless proper action was taken against the land mafia. Separately, the opposition also submitted a resolution and an adjournment motion in the PA on the said issue and demanded the PML-N government to discuss the issue in the House.

I have paid for one house in eden palace villa one year back, they promised the possession in 6 months but still after 1 year i am hanging at the same position. i don’t have sufficient funds to invest again for house. i am living in rented house from last one year. Pakistan government should take action and audit their previous projects. they collected millions from public and investing nothing on eden palace villas. every time i visited their office, they promised for next 3 months and told me about funds but they have invested funds buying land for new projects. they are collecting huge money from innocent people by the name of Eden Abad, Eden Gardens, Eden Home etc. Pakistan govt. should ask them to complete their previous projects before they open new projects. we have decided to file a case in supreme court against eden. Eden Housing and Eden builders are doing the same thing to all of their clients. I have met with many of their recent clients who are planning to file case against them. Eden is delaying all of their projects including eden gardens, eden lane villas, eden lane villas 2, eden city, eden cottages, eden abad etc. But the biggest of all is eden palace villas where they are not doing any progress from last 4 years. Land acquisition for SL of Ring Road in progress Monday, May 16, 2011 LAHORE An amount of Rs 21.6 billion will be spent on the acquisition of southern section of Ring Road in accordance with the revised design. According to official sources, the Punjab government is acquiring land for 8.5 kilometres southern loop (SL-1) from Sui Gas Town to Ferozpur Road at a cost of Rs 4,995million. For 13 kilometres southern loop-2 from Ferozepur Road to Raiwind Road, the Punjab government will spend Rs 4091.70 for land acquisition while its work will be executed by a Chinese company on build, operate and transfer (BOT) basis. Similarly, the Punjab government will acquire land for 8 kilometres southern loop-3 at a cost of Rs 4,059.96 million from Raiwind Road and Multan Road and for the purpose PC-I is in process for the approval of land acquisition. A sum of Rs 4449.12 million will be spent on land acquisition for 18 kilometre southern loop-4 from Multan road to Motorway M-2 while an approximate amount of Rs 4 billion would be spent on the acquisition of land from Babu Sabu to pacakge No. 5, having a length 2.5 kilometres. The Punjab government will execute work on SL-1 including acquisition of land while the execution of SL-2,3 and 4 would be carried out by a Chinese company on BOT basis. According to the revised design, Ring Road will pass through Sui Gas Town, Gajumata, Halloki, Adda Plot, Maraka,Mohlanwal, Chung, Shahpur, Motorway Babu Sabu Interchange and Gulshan-e-Ravi at Package No.5.

Punjab Excise and Taxation Department arrested 100 defaulters in Lahore
LAHORE, June 27: Punjab Excise and Taxation Department teams arrested on Monday over 100 defaulters in Lahore as part of its crackdown on 100,000 property tax defaulters as only three days are left to meet its target of Rs12.5 billion of fiscal year 2010-11.
The teams also sealed the properties of many defaulters for not responding to warnings and notices, Excise and Taxation Department Additional Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal told Dawn.
The department had given raiding teams `sweeping powers` to carry out a “hard-hitting” crackdown to meet its revenue target, he said. Mr Gondal said the department had recovered Rs10.2 billion from its defaulters till the end of May.Dawn learnt the officials are facing immense problems to hit their target before deadline as most of the defaulters have transferred their properties to either their children or female family members to avoid arrests or prolong the recovery process.The action against the property tax defaulters is being taken under the Urban Immoveable Act 1958 and Land Revenue Act 1967.
Mr Gondal said the result-oriented crackdown had proved fruitful as they were collecting Rs60 million every day. He added the department had an effective monitoring system to ensure transparency in tax collection.
